Courses available to new Beekeepers
Various beekeeping associations within Hampshire hold courses for people who are interested in beekeeping. Most attendees are expected to go on to keep bees but the courses can also be of interest to those who wish to learn more about honey bees. Weekend Beginners’ Course – Awbridge (Romsey), Hampshire, 6-7 May 2017
This course is aimed at the complete beginner or those with little experience. The topics covered include the beekeeping year, setting up your first apiary, buying kit, where to go when you don’t know what to do, bee health, and much more.We’ll be including a practical session to give you the opportunity to handle bees – we can lend protective clothing if needed. We aim to give you enough knowledge and confidence to start keeping bees in the upcoming season. The cost will be £90 per person for the 2 days; light refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
