It appears that swarm season is upon us with many of our members reporting that their bees have built up strongly over winter. Along with the bad weather beekeepers have been unable to check their hives before now.

If you do find that you have a swarm of honeybees in your home, garden, workplace or public space, the best way to get a nearby beekeepers to assist, is to look at the BBKA’s website where beekeepers who are registered, insured and have had training and experience in collecting swarms.

Each association has its own swarm page on their website and a contact number for a Swarm Liaison Officer. Check out our page that lists all the associations and their contact details.

If you are a local beekeeper and wish to be added to the swarm collectors list for an association that you are a full registered member, you will need to speak with your membership secretary who will advise you on the process.
