Welcome to the members’ area of the Hampshire Beekeepers Association website. And thank you for your further interest in HBA which is one of the largest beekeeping associations in the UK.
Together with our fourteen local association members we aim to help and support Hampshire beekeepers to further improve their skills and knowledge in supporting our fascinating bees who make such an important contribution to our natural environment.

Hampshire Beekeepers Association Badges
The county association has exclusive badges for sale by HBA. Only HBA members can buy them from HBA or their local associations.
The Local Association can buy these badges for £21 per ten, with postage and packing included. Individual members can order these badges directly from HBA for £3.00 each, with postage and packing to their preferred address included.
These badges generate profits that fund events and sponsorships related to the art of beekeeping.

Studying is easier together
HBA is dedicated to enhancing the skills and knowledge of beekeepers and providing opportunities for learning to its members.
To help us match you with other beekeepers who share your learning interests, please complete this form and indicate which modules you would like to study.
Participation in the study group is not limited to those who are taking an assessment; it is open to anyone who is interested in learning.
The HBA Zoom account is available for free to any members who want to form a study group.
Being a member of HBA gives you the benefit of using the zoom account for various purposes, such as Association Meetings, Training Sessions, Study Groups and more. To reserve a time slot, first look at the zoom calendar below and find an available slot. Then, click on the “book a slot” button and fill in the required details: Date, Timing, Contact Email and Meeting Title.
This is the shared calendar for HBA and Local Associations. So far, only Meon, Meridian & Hampshire Beekeepers Events Calendar have joined. We hope that all Associations will participate and share their events, so that beekeepers from all over Hampshire can support and attend each other’s activities.
A possible benefit of the calendar is that associations can avoid scheduling the same talk or events as others and collaborate with them instead. This way, they can save resources and money.
Members can save time and effort by accessing free talks added to the Hampshire Beekeepers Calendar. These talks are usually advertised on Eventbrite, BIBBA and other County Associations.
— For individual online learning
BBKA Member can access online study units by logging onto their online site.
Once you have access you have four types of study units:
The general public will have access to non-specialist study units about Asian Hornet and Swarming.
In future we aim to create materials about planting for pollinators.
— Beginner to improvers – courses for all
BBKA Syllabus 2024 are known as modules. There are 7 core modules in total giving you a chance to test your knowledge on all aspects of apiculture.
There is also a subsidiary module called Plants and Pollinators. This is a stand-alone module and does not form part of the route to achieve Intermediate or Advanced Theory Certificate but is intended to extend your knowledge in subject areas of interest to beekeepers.
Please check the latest ‘Fees and Dates’ document for exact dates. If you would like to take one of the modules, then please complete the form below so our exam secretary can send you the required link and payment details.
